Let it rain!

It has been between 60 and 90 days since we have had any rain here, but it has rained all afternoon and all evening! Praise the Lord! We are supposed to get rain all week and we are so happy to get rid of the dust! The only downside to the rain is that we have a leak. They have been out here twice to fix it already, but they didn't really do anything except paint over the spot and trim limbs. Hopefully they will come and actually fix it this time!

Hello Fall/Autumn!

Yesterday was the first day of Fall, but if you were here you would never know it! We have had a record of about 95 days straight in the 90's and we haven't had any rain in a month or so also. Next week is supposed to be in the 80's and rainy, but that could always change! I am just ready for November to be here already!

Bruce is still enjoying school, and he is doing very well! He is learning how to write and read sentences now, and he is progressing very quickly! There is a chart of what they are going to learn in the first 9 weeks, second, third and fourth in his homework folder, and he already knows his first 9 weeks and most of the second! We are very proud of him and we can defiently see an attitude change a lot of the time!

Levi is almost 20 months old now and he is getting more independent all of the time! He ate spaghetti and chili last night and he finished every single bite! We are glad because normally he would have wanted plain spaghetti, but he ate it all! Levi also says "I love you" in sign language and can say "ove ew" as well! He is so tall and is already wearing 3T clothes that were Bruce's when he was almost 3! Time flies and the boys are defiently growing up!

I told him to keep his drink off of the carpet, so he decided to hang out by the chair on the linoleum floor staring at us!

Ouch...

Matt had a JFEX this week, a joint training exercise with the AF. Well, they jumped out of the planes on Tuesday night and for the first time ever Matt got entangled in a tree and smacked his face right into a tree branch. OUCH! His lip is bruised and his face is pretty swollen too... He said this was his worst jump ever, I bet! On top of that, they were in a new area in the woods and some fire ants bit him. It turns out that he is allergic to fire ants and his body is swollen, really badly, on every bite that he has. OUCH! I feel so bad for him, but he has medication and is already knocked out for the night, and it is only just past 9:00!

Where is fall?

This is September, what ever happened to cooler weather? It has been in the upper 80's to upper 90's still, and has been since May! I am ready for jeans and sweaters, jackets and boots!

On another note, I talked to Bruce's teacher on the phone yesterday and she said that he is doing pretty well! I had to call her beacause Bruce was upset that his folder didn't make it home last night and he wanted to make sure he wouldn't get into any trouble... We talked for a little while and she told me that he is adapting pretty well, but he is becoming a follower, when some of the other boys do something they aren't supposed to do Bruce will follow along although he was doing the right thing at first. So, we are going to help him become a leader and not a follower so he will stay out of trouble!

Levi is becoming such a little ham! Now that he is used to Bruce being at school, he is loving it! He still misses his bubba and his daddy, but he likes being the only boy sometimes! We watched the Veggie Tales sing-alongs yesterday and he loved it and even started "singing" along with it! It amazes me how quickly children grow!

Matt is doing well, training like usual, and busy at work! He is doing a JFEX next week, which is just another form of training. Training never ends, and we are getting used to it! I am doing pretty well also. Just busy planning things for the rest of the year and getting Christmas present shopping started. I am also busy with doctor appointments coming up next monday and then another one shortly after that and one more in the first week of October.

All in all we are doing pretty well and are just anticipating the fall weather to come! God bless everyone and stay safe!

Raven Rock pictures

Happy September!

The weather has finally started to cool off, if you consider 88 degrees for the high a cool off! It felt great outside today and we were able to spend time outside! We went with our friends to Raven Rock State Park. We walked on hiking trails and then ate a picnic lunch! The boys did great, they walked almost the entire way, which was over 3 miles! It was so pretty there, and we got some great pictures that I will add later on!

Bruce has now completed his first full week of school and he still loves it! He wanted to go today, he said that he didn't need time off! If only he will feel that way in a few years! Levi is getting used to having his bubba gone during the day, but he still misses him. Yesterday Matt had the day off, so Levi enjoyed walking around the mall just him and daddy while I got my hair cut.

The boys continue to grow every single day it seems! And they are constantly learning new things! We are so blessed by God!

We went on a trip to Iowa the first week of July. It was a long trip, but a lot of fun! We took a ton of pictures, but since there are so many, I am sharing just a few below! The boys had a great time also! We took the long way home and went through Missouri for a day before coming back home to North Carolina! Enjoy the pictures!
