Happy Thanksgiving!

We have so many things to be thankful for this year! Dinner was pretty good and so was dessert. I really enjoy cooking and I especially like cooking for others! We are so thankful for God and the way he continues to bless us each and every day. We have friends and family that we are so thankful for also and we are glad that Matt is home this year, when many cannot be.

We hope that everyone has had a good Thanksgiving and God bless!

Thanksgiving 2010

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and I can barely believe it! I will be cooking dinner all by myself for the second year and I am so excited for it. We will be having turkey, homemade cranberry sauce, chive mashed potatoes, homemade dressing, rolls and greenbean casserole. Also pumpkin pie, cheesecake pudding pie and cookies. I just hope that everything turns out great! We are having 2 guests over this year, 2 guys that work with Matt, so I hope that everything comes together!

This year we have so much to be thankful for. We have lived here for a year now, and we have made some good friends. We are also thankful that Matt gets to be here with us this year and many men and women are deployed this year instead. We are thankful for 2 wonderful children, a place to live, that Matt has a job, our cars and that we can put food on our table. God is so great and he continues to bless us each day. We are also glad that we have finally found a church that we like. We are picky when it comes to churches, but we like this one!

We hope that everybody has a wonderful Thanksgiving and God bless!

Already?

This year is spiriling to end very quickly! I can't believe that Thanksgiving is this Thursday!!! I have all the stuff ready for it, but I am just not ready to let this year end yet! It seems that the older I get, the faster time flys by. When I was Bruce's age (5), I couldn't wait for the next school year at the begining of the one I was already in, I wanted birthdays to hurry faster and I always said that I was almost the next age up, even if it was months away (and Bruce does that now also)! When I was 10 I couldn't wait to be 13, a teenager. When I was 13 I couldn't wait to be 16 so I could drive. When I was 16 I was ready to be 18 and out of high school and out on my own. Even after I became a mother I still loved time flying by, and sometimes it didn't seem to fly by fast enough. When Matt was a recruiter, we couldn't wait for him to go back to the real army, even though we knew that eventually we would want time to go by more slowly.

Well, it is that time now, the part that we wanted to go by more slowly, and it seems to be going even more quickly than ever before. By the time Friday gets here and we can start to enjoy our weekends together as a family, it seems that Monday morning has already creeped up on us. These next almost 6 weeks can go by in slow motion and that would be good with us, if just this year.

But, I digress... On to an update. The boys have grown so much lately, that I feel like we shouldn't even bother with getting the next size up in clothes and shoes, but just go up 2 sizes! Levi went from a size 5 shoe to a size 7 in a very short period. Bruce went from boys size clothes finally, 4, to a 5 or 6 already! Levi wears 3T shirts, but even some of those are too short in the sleeves, and he has some of Bruce's old 4T shirts that already fit him! Now that 2011 is getting closer to being here the boy's are getting closer to being another year older. Bruce will be 6 and Levi will be 2! It seems like just yesterday that they were 4 and newborn... Levi is starting to like cartoons now, and he gets to watch a little bit in the mornings after Bruce goes to school. He likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny. He has learned to say new words just from watching these shows, such as, hotdog, tools, toodles, manny and mouse.

Meanwhile, Bruce is doing great in school. When we talked to his teacher at the parent teacher conf. we found out that he is a very big helper in his class and that he is trusted to walk through the school all alone and deliver messages! We were also told by the counciler and his teacher that he is very happy and charming (although we already knew that ;)). He is doing great and he loves school so much. Just the other day he earned a homework pass, and I told him we were going to use it and not do the homework for that night, and he was very upset because he loves to do it!

Matt and I are doing pretty well also, but nothing really new to report on us for now!

God Bless and have a wonderful day!

Veteran's Day

We Stood For Freedom

Roger J. Robicheau

Former U.S. Army Specialist Fifth Class

We stood for freedom just like you

And loved the flag you cherish too

Our uniforms felt great to wear

You know the feel, and how you care.

In step we marched, the cadence way

The same is true with you today

Oh how we tried to do our best

As you do now, from test to test

How young we were and proud to be

Defenders of true liberty.

So many thoughts bind soldiers well

The facts may change, not how we jell

Each soldier past, and you now here

Do share what will not disappear

One thought now comes, straight from my heart

For soldiers home, who've done their part.

I'm honored to have served with you

May Godly peace, help get you through

And now I'll end with a request

Do ponder this, while home at rest

America, respect our day

Each veteran, helped freedom stay.

Happy Veteran's Day and a big thank you to all of those who have served in the past and do serve now. A thank you to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice and given their lives, and to those who give and have given their time and hearts. God Bless them and everyone.

Hello November!

Finally November is here! I love this month because it is usually cooler weather now, Thanksgiving, parent teacher confrence and closer to Christmas.

I love the cooler weather, minus one thing, I got sick. I haven't been to the doctor for a cold or cold like syptoms for a long time, mostly because if I self treat I usually feel better within a day or two. This time I wasn't feeling better after 5 days, so I made an appointment and went in. I have an upper respiratory infection and I was given 4 different medications, and no antibiotic even. I am starting to finally feel better, which is good because the boys' don't understand when mommy doesn't feel well.

Matt is going to be in a parade tommorrow, I believe it is a Veterans Day parade. We are proud of Matt and everything that he does!

Bruce and Levi are doing great. They are truly best friends and I am so glad for that! Bruce loves school and he is starting to get more into the swing of things regarding balancing school and home, such as bed times and not sleeping on the bus, eating all of his lunch instead of talking (I have no idea where he gets that from ;)). Levi loves being home with mommy, but he misses dad and bubba a lot also. We frequently leave the house and go play with other kids, go shopping or hang out with my friend and her daughter.

God Bless you all and have a great friday!
