February is coming to an end...

I wanted February to go by slowly, and surprisingly it has! This month has had a lot of interesting things about it. Levi celebrated 2 years of life, we had our first joint birthday party for the two boys and we had a great attendance, and Levi got stitches.

February has been fun, but now we will move on to March. This week will be my birthday, and then the rest of the month can fly by on into April. April will be good.

2 months of 2011 down already? Bring on the rest of the year and everything it brings.

God Bless.

Day 25: A picture of my husband...

I have a million pictures of Matt, he doesn't like them all because some are just plain goofy, but if he took more pictures, there wouldn't be so many of him! I am putting 3 here for now. The first one is on our wedding day, May 17, 2008! He still wore glasses, he was in recruiting then and he looked handsome and nervous!

This picture was taken on Levi's birthday at Red Robin. No glasses now, he actually gets to wear civilian clothes a little bit more and he does PT a lot more now.

Here are my 3 boys at Red Robin for Bruce's birthday! They are all 3 handfuls when they start wrestling or playing around. Both of the boys are just like Matt in some ways and me in others.

Boys!

I am almost 25, I have never had stitches. Bruce is 6, never had stitches. Matt says that he can't remember having stitches and he is 27. Levi just turned 2 and has 3 stitches in his head! And, it wasn't even from being a wild boy, it was from his brother being a bully. Poor thing had a gash above his eye on his head and barely even cried. He sat still the entire time we were wating at the ER and the whole time they were stitching his head.

The next day, we were in the car on our way to get bandaids for him, and he threw a coffee cup lid at Bruce (although I don't think that was on purpose). It hit him in the eye and caused a slightly bruised eye. They are so wild and crazy, and they wrestle and fight and argue already! I can't even imagine how they will be in the next few years as Levi gets older. Levi is already 3 feet tall and only 12lbs less than Bruce!

They fight, argue, wrestle, yell at each other, but they love each other so much and are the best buds each other could have! Levi forgave Bruce the second day and they are still good (although he was scared of him the first day after the stitches).

Day 24- Trying something new...

I have been branching out when it comes to cooking. Last week, I made eggplant, it wasn't good at all, but we had never had eggplant, and decided to try it, even though trying something new can be scary and intimidating. I know some new tricks and may eventually try it again, but I need to taste one that is cooked well first, because I am thinking I just don't like it.

Tonight, I am making cooked cabbage, the only time I have had cabbage has been raw and in salad, and that was red cabbage. Matt wants sausage and cabbage, and although I may not eat it, I will make it and try it and let him have at it! Other things I will attempt to make soon are, lobster (that one may take me a while to get to), lamb, homemade pasta, bread from scratch and my own sauces.

I am always hesitant to try new things, whether it be cooking, driving, shopping, wearing, reading.... I always procrastinate in fear of not liking something. I am getting over my hesitation and starting to try lots of new things. This year, in general, will be the toughest one in my life so far, so I am attempting to make it less tough by filling it with new food to cook, new friends to hang out with, new books to read and new things like the wow group at church.

I will hopefully be updating soon that my cabbage turned out great!

Busy, busy...

I was doing really well at keeping this blog updated, but then we got busy around here and I spent the little bit of downtime I had on other things, and not this...

We had several doctors appointments (1 for me, 4 for Levi), dentist appointments, a birthday party to plan and have, 2 other birthday parties to attend, cleaning up the house after the party, rearranging the boy's bedroom and shopping! That is some of what we have been up to the last 2 weeks!

Levi got sick for the first time, 2 days before his second birthday. He had bronchiolitis, an upper resp. infection and an ear infection. He was a grump on his birthday and refused to turn 2 (litteraly, he kept saying no 2, no birbday). He went in for his 2 year check up the next week, and he measures 36 inches tall (3 ft) and in the 89% for height. He weighs 29lbs and is in the 52% for weight. We have been saying we thought that he was tall!

The boys enjoyed their party, and they got a lot of presents. There were 13 kids here, and a lot of parents! I was exhausted afterwards, but during the party I didn't notice how tired I was becoming because everybody had a great time! I made a racetrack cake and cupcakes, and Matt helped me decorate them. We got them a train table, and they love it, which we were happy about because it took us a long time to think of good presents for their birthdays since we just had Christmas!

Matt had a jump last week, and he was a jump master on a separate jump also. He landed safely and everything was good! He has been preparing for some more training and they have been getting home late from work the past week. A good thing though, he got a 4 day weekend this weekend!

We have all been really good and I hope to continue to keep this updated, even through the business of our lives! Until next time, God Bless.

February already?

It seems like it was just Christmas yesterday!!! Now we have a 6 year old and Levi will be 2 in 3 days! It doesn't seem possible that we are already 1 month and 1 week into this year! So far it has been pretty great!

Matt has been busy with work, he got a new squad, so he is busy getting used to his new guys and figuring things out. He also got a new "job" added to his list of things to do, so he has been pretty busy lately, but we are proud of what he gets accomplished! I helped him repack his bags again! It seems like we are always repacking those things, and when we do the living room gets full of ACU colored everything.

Bruce got his report card for his second quarter of school, and he did great! He has improved already this year and the only thing he has left to work on is his time management skills, which we already knew that, because he takes forever to do anything! He still enjoys school, and his homework is getting a little bit harder, but he has an easier time doing the harder stuff! He is already saying he is almost in first grade, so hopefully his love for school will last a long time!

Levi is our ornery one! We have no idea where he got his ornerniness and stubborness from! ;) He can reach the kitchen sink now, so the water gets turned out, the sponge or rag in the sink gets wet and he "scrubs" the floor for mommy. He also likes to "sweep" the floor, vacuum, dust and put things away, just not the way mommy likes them done!!! He is a big helper! He refuses to say he is two. We were working on him getting used to saying, "I'm two", but he says, "No two, no" instead! He tries to wear Bruce's shoes around the house, he puts on his clothes and he tries to sleep on the top bunk. We think that he thinks that he is six.

I am keeping this house clean, food cooked and everyone entertained. I am planning the birthday party for the boys for this coming saturday, and hopefully it goes down without a stitch and the boys enjoy it. We are going to make the boys their birthday cake this year. I always make it, but we are doing something different this year. We are making a racetrack cake, since the theme for the party is cars! Hopefully it turns out to look ok, but as long as it tastes good I don't think they will care!

We are all doing really great! God Bless!

Day 23- A picture of something that makes you happy...

I am going to post a few pictures of a few something that make me happy!

My husband and me on our wedding day! Getting married to this wonderful man defiently made me happy!

Christmas 2011, Matt got me another Colts jersey #18 and a colts shirt! It makes me happy that I got some more Colts gear, and that I Matt picked me out some great shirts!

My little boys! They are wearing their Razorback shirts and getting along in this picture! They fight, but they really are friends and they love each other!

Levi. He makes me happy for several reasons, but one reason is his stubborness, yes that shouldn't make me happy, but it just makes me happy to see that he is exactly a perfect combination of me and Matt!

Bruce. Again, several reasons why he makes me happy, but one reason is how smart he is and how much impact Matt and I have had on helping him develop and become so smart!

Levi with his "baby"! This makes me happy because it shows how loving and kind he is! He carries Spot, or any of the other stuffed animals with him everywhere!

My 3 guys; Matt, Bruce and Levi! They are the lights of my life ande they all 3 help to keep me on my toes!

Bruce wearing his "cool clothes" makes me happy! He is so handsome and he looks like such a grown boy when he wears his tie and button up shirt!

So, did you notice a theme? Pretty much the things that make me happy all revolve around my little family! A lot of things make me happy, but these 3 really take the cake! I love every day and every moment we all have together as a family! I wouldn't change anything!

God Bless!

Day 21- An old picture of me...

I am not sure how old I am here, but probably only a few months old. 1986

                                                         I believe that I am 2 here! 1988

I have a lot of old pictures. I love to look how much we all change and grow, even the older we get we still change. I am glad that I am almost 25 years old and I still look young, although sometimes it irritates me!

God bless!
